Management of basic cow herds to improve fecundity 1. A reasonable herd structure is one of the foundations for obtaining good fecundity, and the proportion of basic cows in the herd is 50-70% for dairy cattle and 40-60% for beef cattle, service cattle and dairy cattle. Improper use of cows will reduce the fecundity of cows. For example, incorrect milking of cows and long-term excessive service of service cows will cause excessive consumption of cattle body, physical decline, disorder or inhibition of sexual function, resulting in abnormal estrus or difficulty in conception and implantation, thus reducing the conception rate. Overuse on pregnant cows can also cause miscarriage. 3. Investigation of breeding situation If the management personnel do not know the breeding situation and estrous characteristics of cows, they will lose the timing of breeding, which is easy to cause the leakage and mismatch of cows, delay the calving interval and reduce the fecundity of cows. 4. After mating, check the cows to have empty pregnancy and abortion. For the cows after mating, check the conception situation so as to make up the cows in time and protect the fetus.
Management of basic cow herds to improve fecundity
Under normal circumstances, the cow estrus ovulation has certain regularity. However, because the estrus of cows is often affected by many internal and external factors (such as nutrition, labor, climate, etc.), the estrus of cows exceeds the normal law, which is called abnormal estrus. Ovarian dysfunction can cause abnormal estrus, including no estrus, dark estrus, frequent estrus, and wig estrus.
1, no estrus cows do not estrus and do not ovulate, often due to disease, climate, nutrition or lactation caused. Endometritis and persistent corpus luteum are causes of non-estrus, and ovarian hypoplasia can also cause non-estrus.
2, dark estrus cows do not show signs of estrus but have follicular development and ovulation, and it has been reported that 18.6 to 27.3 percent of cows in the normal herd are dark estrus. Generally, the first estrus after delivery of cows and weak cows are prone to dark estrus.
3, often estrus cows often show external estrus, when the cow ovarian cyst, often lead to cows have this symptom.
4. Wig-estrus cows have estrus symptoms but do not ovulate. This wig-estrus phenomenon is common in light-born cows within 1 to 3 months after mating. The reason for the appearance of wigs in cows may be due to insufficient progesterone function of the corpus luteum after conception and the continued secretion of estrogen by the gonads; it is also due to significant hypertrophy of the cervical artery after pregnancy, strong pulsatility, placental chorionic growth and stimulation of fetal movement.
Infertility caused by disease includes both infectious and non-infectious. Infectious diseases include brucellosis, trichomoniasis and granular inflammation of the reproductive tract; non-communicable diseases include vaginitis, oophoritis, salpingitis, endometritis, uterine cysts, cervicitis, etc.
The causes of this kind of infertility are mostly caused by pituitary gland disorders, endocrine system and nervous system disorders, resulting in abnormal development of reproductive organs and sexual dysfunction of cows.
Climatic and environmental factors such as season, temperature, humidity and sunlight all affect reproduction. Whether the temperature is too high or too low, can reduce the reproductive efficiency, hot summer, winter is cold, the lowest reproductive rate of cattle. The temperature in spring and autumn is suitable, and the reproduction rate is naturally the highest. The reason of winter estrus and less conception is mainly due to short sunshine and low vitamin content in crude materials. In order to achieve maximum reproductive efficiency, the necessary environmental conditions are: cool climate, low humidity, long sunshine and abundant nutrition.
