In recent years, with the structural adjustment of China's animal husbandry industry, the cause of ruminants has developed rapidly, and the breeding technology, scale and mechanization level have been continuously improved. The central government has clearly put forward the development direction of optimizing the breeding space and vigorously promoting green and healthy breeding. The ruminant industry is facing new situations, new tasks and new requirements.

In the coming period, the development of herbivorous animal husbandry in China should follow the development concept of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, and do a good job in five key tasks, such as the construction of improved seed breeding system, standardized scale breeding, forage production foundation, quality and safety supervision, epidemic disease prevention and control, and the healthy development of new formats.
